Bret Simpson, M.D.
Bret Simpson, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care of diseased and injured muscles, bones, joints (and related structures such as nerves, ligaments, and tendons), total joint replacement, and sports medicine.
In 2010 he became the first orthopaedic surgeon in the state of Alabama to become credentialed as a Certified Impact Consultant. He heads the multidisciplinary team at Southern Bone & Joint Specialists that utilizes the ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) system to identify and manage concussion in young athletes.
Dr. Simpson received his medical degree from Georgetown School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL.
