Located in southeastern Alabama, Enterprise has a rich history that dates back to the mid-1800s. Originally a small settlement known as Drake Eye, the city was renamed Enterprise in 1876 as a symbol of its resilience and determination. Following the devastation of the Civil War and the loss of its agricultural crops due to a pest infestation, the citizens of Enterprise chose the name Enterprise as a nod to their spirit of enterprise and determination to rebuild.

Today, Enterprise is a vibrant city with a population of over 28,000 people. The city is home to several museums, including the Boll Weevil Monument and Museum, which celebrates the city’s unique history and agricultural heritage. Enterprise is also known for its parks and outdoor recreation, including the Enterprise State Park and the Johnny Henderson Family Park.
