DOTHAN, ALABAMA – January 22, 2024 – The Southern Bone & Joint Specialists (SBJS) Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2024 scholarship program through March 31st. High school seniors in Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike counties in Alabama are encouraged to apply.
The SBJS Foundation will award multiple scholarships to high school seniors planning to major in a healthcare field in college, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must submit an essay reflecting on a personal experience where they challenged a previously held belief.
Funded by proceeds from the annual Ronnie Randall Memorial Golf Tournament, the scholarships aim to promote healthcare education and wellness in the Wiregrass region. Last year, the program awarded over $17,500 to local students.
“We are delighted to award scholarships to these exceptional students from the Wiregrass Region,” said Dr. Chase Smith, President of Southern Bone and Joint Specialists. “We believe that these scholarships will help alleviate the financial burden as they pursue their chosen healthcare careers.”

Submissions are due by March 31, 2024, with winners announced in May.
