BIOGRAPHY

Rory C. Farris, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who practices general orthopaedics and has a special interest in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery, particularly arthroscopic and shoulder replacement surgery and sports-related knee injuries.

Dr. Farris earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, where he received numerous academic awards and scholarships and graduated at the top of his class. He remained at UAB to complete his orthopaedic surgery training. While at UAB, Dr. Farris was involved in clinical research and published several articles in major orthopaedic journals. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a surgeon, but in high school, after sustaining a sports-related knee injury that required surgery, his interest in orthopaedic surgery was sparked.

During his time away from work, Dr. Farris enjoys fly fishing, bird hunting, and attending his children’s sporting events.
